Monroe, LA (March 11, 2024) – A victim remains hospitalized following a hit-and-run accident that occurred on Sunday in Monroe. The accident was reported just after 515 a.m. on March 3. According to official reports, two vehicles were traveling west on Millhaven Road during the early morning hours.
As one vehicle attempted to pass the other in the eastbound lane, both vehicles collided. The crash's impact sent one of the vehicles off the roadway, colliding with a power pole and a home. One person involved in the accident was severely injured. The victim was rushed to an area hospital, where they were placed into a medically induced coma. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene. Authorities later identified the driver as Antoine Standifier. Standifier was taken into police custody, where he faces charges of hit-and-run driving, home invasion, theft, and attempted second-degree murder based on investigations into the incident. At this time, investigations are ongoing.
