Madison Parish, LA (July 12, 2025) – A deadly collision involving two 18-wheelers took place early Thursday morning on Interstate 20 just west of Louisiana Highway 557 in Madison Parish. Louisiana State Police say the tragic accident occurred just before 5 a.m. on July 10 when 26-year-old Charles Moore of Meridian, Mississippi, was driving a westbound semi-truck along this busy stretch of roadway.
For reasons that are still under investigation, Moore’s 18-wheeler veered off the right side of the interstate and crashed into another 18-wheeler that was parked on the roadside. The impact of the initial collision forced Moore’s vehicle further off the road, where it struck a tree. Despite wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, Moore suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. The crash remains under investigation at this time.
