Calhoun, LA (June 26, 2025) – A motor vehicle accident occurred early this morning on Louisiana Highway 121 near Bob Stark Road, resulting in one fatality and minor injuries to another driver. Troopers with the Louisiana State Police responded to the scene just before 7 a.m. after receiving reports of a significant head‑on collision between two vehicles.
The preliminary investigation revealed that 52‑year‑old Shellie Slocum of Boyce was traveling southbound on La Hwy 121 when, for reasons still under review, her vehicle crossed into the northbound lane and struck another vehicle head‑on. Slocum was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, who was properly restrained, suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The crash remains under investigation.
