Monroe, LA – Injuries Reported in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-20 EB Ramp
Monroe, LA (October 29, 2025) – Multiple people sustained injuries early Tuesday morning, October 28, following a multi-vehicle collision on the eastbound ramp of Interstate 20 near mile marker 103 in Monroe.
According to local authorities, the crash occurred around 5:00 a.m. when several vehicles lost control while merging onto the eastbound ramp. Among those involved was a black Genesis sedan that suffered extensive front-end damage. Deputies from the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene along with emergency medical services to assist the injured and manage traffic.
First responders treated several individuals for injuries, though the number and severity of those injuries have not yet been confirmed. Paramedics transported at least one victim to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. The Sheriff’s Office closed portions of the ramp while crews cleared debris and conducted a preliminary investigation into what caused the accident.
Investigators have not determined whether weather, driver error, or mechanical failure contributed to the crash. The roadway reopened to traffic after several hours.
Our thoughts are with all those injured in this collision, and we wish them a full and speedy recovery.
Multi-Vehicle Accidents in Monroe.2509251940597.jpg)
Crashes involving multiple vehicles, like the one on I-20, are among the most dangerous types of traffic accidents. With multiple cars involved, determining fault becomes complex, and victims often suffer severe injuries and property damage. These collisions can occur suddenly—often due to chain reactions caused by speeding, tailgating, or poor weather conditions.
According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, hundreds of car accidents occur annually along I-20, many of which involve multiple vehicles. The high speed and merging traffic on ramps increase the risk of serious collisions, especially during early morning or rush-hour traffic.
Injuries resulting from multi-vehicle crashes often include:
- Neck and spine injuries from the force of impact
- Head or brain injuries from sudden jolts or airbag deployment
- Broken bones and fractures from crushed or twisted metal
- Internal injuries caused by seatbelt pressure or blunt trauma
Victims of multi-vehicle crashes may face long-term physical pain, emotional distress, and financial hardships. Medical expenses, car repairs, and lost wages can quickly add up. For this reason, consulting a skilled Monroe car accident attorney is essential after a serious accident.
A qualified lawyer can help victims by investigating the crash, gathering evidence, identifying all responsible parties such as negligent drivers or vehicle owners, working with accident reconstruction experts to build a strong case, and negotiating with insurance companies to pursue maximum compensation.
Through a personal injury claim, victims may recover damages for medical bills, lost income, pain and suffering, rehabilitation costs, and property damage. Legal representation ensures victims are not left dealing with insurance companies or legal challenges alone.
