Two Killed in Commercial Truck Crash on I-20 Near LA 3249

West Monroe, LA (February 14, 2026) – Two people lost their lives on Thursday, February 12, after a crash involving two commercial trucks on Interstate 20 just west of Louisiana Highway 3249 (Well Road).

According to investigators, the accident happened shortly after 10:00 a.m. when 46-year-old Clinton Warren of Vina, Alabama, was driving a white 2013 Freightliner westbound in the right lane of I-20. He was pulling a manufactured home at the time. A blue 2012 Freightliner pulling a box trailer traveled in the left lane beside him.

For reasons still under review, Warren’s truck moved into the left lane and struck the other vehicle. After the initial collision, both trucks veered into the median and crashed into the support of the Vancil Road overpass.

Warren suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. A passenger in his truck, 45-year-old Constance Mitchell of Empire, Alabama, also died at the scene.

The driver of the second truck sustained minor injuries. Emergency units responded and evaluated those involved.

Authorities collected routine toxicology samples, though impairment is not suspected. Officials continue to investigate the cause of the crash.

We extend our sincere condolences to the families of those who lost their lives.

Do I Need a Lawyer After a Commercial Truck Crash?

In many cases, speaking with a lawyer after a commercial truck crash can help clarify what steps to take next. Collisions involving large trucks often lead to complex insurance questions because multiple companies may be involved, including drivers, trucking businesses, and cargo carriers.

A personal injury lawyer can review crash reports, insurance policies, and medical documents to help explain available options. Legal guidance may assist with communication between those involved and insurance representatives.

An attorney can also outline what types of compensation may be available for medical bills, lost income, and other related expenses, depending on the specific situation.

Federal and state safety regulations can also play a role in how liability is reviewed after a serious accident.

Truck crashes tend to cause severe injuries due to the size and weight of these vehicles. People may experience broken bones, head injuries, back pain, or internal injuries that require ongoing care.

Some symptoms appear right away, while others develop hours or days later. Medical visits not only support recovery but also create records that may become important later.
