Winn Parish, LA (March 2, 2026) – A 44-year-old man died Sunday morning, March 1, after a crash on U.S. Highway 167 near Dodson in Winn Parish.
The accident happened around 9:09 a.m. Louisiana State Police Troop E responded to the scene and began investigating the fatal collision.
Troopers reported that a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze traveled south on U.S. Highway 167 when the driver, identified as Miguel Angel Bello-Castillo of Farmerville, lost control of the vehicle. The car left the roadway, struck a ditch embankment, and overturned.
Bello-Castillo wore a seat belt at the time of the crash. He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
A passenger in the Chevrolet also wore a seat belt. The passenger suffered moderate injuries and emergency crews transported the individual to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities collected routine toxicology samples and submitted them for analysis. Investigators suspect impairment may have contributed to the crash, but they continue to review the evidence.
