Lincoln Parish, LA (April 30, 2024) – Emergency crews were called to the scene of a major motor vehicle accident that occurred in Lincoln Parish and claimed one person’s life. The collision occurred just before 1:00 p.m. on April 27.
According to reports from the Louisiana State Police, Ofc. Russell Croxton was pulling over a vehicle on US Highway 167 during the afternoon hours. As he was standing next to the vehicle's driver-side window, a Peterbilt commercial vehicle traveling down the roadway crashed into the police car. The truck then struck the officer before colliding with the second vehicle on the road. Ofc. Croxton was severely injured in the crash. He was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries. No other injuries were reported in this crash. At this time, the collision is being investigated.
