Calhoun, LA – Patricia Eley Loses Life in Two-Vehicle Wreck on LA-837 near LA-151

Calhoun, LA (August 23, 2023) – The Louisiana State Police confirmed that 51-year-old Patricia Eley of Simsboro, Louisiana lost her life due to a car crash that occurred on Monday in Calhoun.

LSP reports indicate that Jamie Bell was driving a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder northbound on Louisiana Highway 837 during the morning hours. For unknown reasons, the vehicle collided with a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup truck, which was driven by Anthony Cappo. The head-on collision blocked the roadway near Louisiana Highway 151 at around 4:00 a.m.

A passenger in the Nissan, identified as Eley, was fatally injured. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The drivers of both vehicles were transported to local hospitals for medical care.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation at this time.
