Monroe, LA (November 16, 2023) – At least one person was transported to an area hospital with injuries following a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Monroe on Wednesday morning. At around 11:10 a.m. on November 15, the police and firefighters were called to the site of a crash that took place on Interstate 20 West.
According to reports provided by the Monroe Police Department, a collision blocked the right lane of travel on Interstate 20 in the area near Louisiana Route 563. Authorities responded to the scene and closed off the roadway near Exit 78 as they provided assistance. Delays in traffic extended approximately two miles from the scene of the crash as emergency crews went to work on removing the damaged vehicles. At least one person was hurt in the crash and transported to a local hospital. The crash is being investigated.
