Downsville, LA (November 14, 2023) – The Louisiana State Police Troop F confirmed that 32-year-old Errick Lawson II lost his life as a result of a fatal collision that took place in the Downsville area.
Just before 5:00 p.m. on November 11, LSP was called to the scene of a two-vehicle collision on Louisiana Highway 15.
Reports show that a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro and a 2023 Freightliner Cascadia commercial motor vehicle collided on the highway near Kyle Road. The incident prompted officials to shut down the highway.
The driver of the Camaro, identified as Lawson, was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene by the Union Parish Coroner’s Office.
The truck driver was injured in the crash and transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
The collision is currently being investigated.
