Ouachita Parish, LA – Seldon J. Heatley & Selden W. Heatley II Killed in Crash on I-20

Ouachita Parish, LA (September 27, 2023) – Two men have died as a result of a motor vehicle accident that took place in Ouachita Parish on Tuesday evening, September 26.

At around 5:00 p.m., officers with the Louisiana State Police responded to the scene of a major collision on Interstate 20.

According to LSP reports, a 2020 Nissan Altima was traveling west in the right lane of travel on Interstate 20. At the same time, a 2011 RV Hurricane was traveling westbound on the left lane of the same roadway.

For unknown reasons, the two vehicles collided. The force of the collision caused the RV to go off the right side of the roadway and strike a tree before catching on fire. Authorities responded to the scene of the accident and closed off the roadway near the Cheniere Drew Exit.

Two people in the RV, identified as 76-year-old Seldon J. Heatley and 60-year-old Selden W. Heatley II, both suffered fatal injuries. The two victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Nissan suffered no injuries in the crash.

The accident is currently being investigated.
